ABOUT THE PROJECT
Already in 1902, the Riga City Council began to discuss the project for the construction of the 2nd hospital of the city of Riga in Camps Square in Āgenskalna, however, due to the lack of funds, the implementation of the project lasted until 1908. The construction of the first hospital buildings, according to the project of the chief architect of the city of Riga, Reinhold Šmēlinga, began in 1908, and the hospital with an ambulance, a therapeutic and surgical pavilion and three infectious disease pavilions was solemnly opened on February 10, 1910. Celebrating the 100th birthday of Stradiņa Hospital, in February 2010, the foundation stone for the new building of the hospital was ceremonially laid.
ART8 prepared foundations and assembled materials in part of the construction site.
